Sjøtunet is a fifth-generation family farm by the Hardangerfjord, where we raise sheep and grow fruit. Here you can stay year-round in our traditional boathouses right on the fjord.
Welcome to Sjøtunet – the farm by the sea. For over 140 years, our family has lived and farmed right here on the shores of the Hardangerfjord.
When you arrive at our farm, you arrive at our home. We are your hosts, Simen and Elisabet, together with retired host Torunn, “Granny” Gyda, our dog Ulla, the cat Askepott – and a small flock of sheep. This is where we hope you will feel at home too, whether staying just a few days or for longer. You are welcome to retreat into peace and quiet, or join us for a chat about farm life and daily rhythms.
Life at Sjøtunet follows the seasons, and each has its own charm. In spring you can experience fruit blossom and lambs on green pastures. Summer brings long days for swimming, fishing and fjord adventures. Autumn offers hikes from fjord to mountain, while winter is perfect for skiing with Sjøtunet as your cozy base. At our Hardangerfjord farm stay, you can experience the beauty of Norway all year round.
